Former D1 Athlete, Sports Attorney, Nationally Recognized Athlete Advocate
Maddie Salamone is a former Duke lacrosse player, Sports Attorney and nationally recognized Athlete Advocate, who has been a leading voice for NCAA reform, specifically related to name image and likeness (NIL) and player health and safety since her days as Chair of the Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). A top high school recruit, she entered college ranked #6 on Inside Lacrosse’s list of incoming freshmen and was an Under Armour High School All-American. Due to her experience as a former college athlete and her expertise in college sports law matters, Maddie is able to provide practical guidance on NIL and other legal issues that arise in connection with college sports. She has worked with athletes and their families, on matters concerning eligibility, scholarship appeals, abuse and mistreatment, transfer issues, as well as providing education and consultation on NIL.
Maddie is frequently sought out for commentary and guidance on the latest NIL and college sports developments and legislation, including being featured on ESPN’s SportsCenter, ViceTV, C-SPAN/Washington Journal, Scripps News, and numerous other publications, as well as having testified before Congress on the state of NIL and athlete health and safety.
